Camp Butterfly 2007 Registration

Camp Butterfly 2007 registration is now open! We are currently seeking Volunteer Counselors and girls of African descent, ages 11-17. First time Campers and Volunteer Counselors are needed for two one-week sessions, June 24-30, 2007 and Aug 5-10, 2007 . Transportation to the camp (to and from Chicago), meals, and lodging will be provided for all campers and counselors who will remain for one week. Meals and lodging will be provided for part-time counselors.

Camp Butterfly offers traditional camp programming, i.e, arts & crafts, athletics, etc, and personal development exercises. Activities are designed to build self-esteem, create a positive self-image, increase cultural awareness, and foster a sense of community. We utilize the beautiful 400 acre campsite at Camp Ronora in Watervliet , MI (located approximately 100 miles from Chicago ).

Volunteer Camp Counselors Needed

Experience and certifications in the following are needed but not required:

Arts & Crafts, Athletics, Fine Arts, Personal Development, Senior Life Saving, Water Safety, CPR and First Aid

Training and Orientation will be provided.

Excellent experience for future teachers, pre-med students, psychology majors, and those working in social and human services.

All applicants will be subject to a background check.

Campers Registration

Open to girls ages 11 – 17 from across the country. We accept applicants on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. The cost of camp is $700.00. Partial and full-scholarships are available on a limited basis. (Transportation from other cities to the Chicago area is not included)
